Weekend Update!

It’s Pegasus World Cup weekend at Gulfstream Park, and the Stidham stable is in the mix gunning for for some of that glittering Pegasus gold!

In the G3 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational Stakes, Alms has drawn 6 of 11 in the $500,000 turf contest over 1 and 1/16th miles. With Joel Rosario on board, Alms is a 20-1 shot on the Morning Line.

This 5-year-old daughter of City Zip hasn’t won since February of 2020 but she has run plenty of great races in defeat since, and is seeking to add to her graded stakes haul which includes wins in the G3 Matron Stakes and the G3 Jimmy Durante Stakes.

Over at Sam Houston Sunday, Velvet Crush has drawn the 1 hole in the $400,000 G3 Houston Ladies Classic Stakes over 1 and 1/16th miles. Ry Eikleberry rides this daughter of Tapit, and together they’re an 8-1 shot on the Morning Line.

Here’s the only other stable entry this weekend:
