Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Boy, has the Stidham stable hit overdrive this week, with a couple of lovely wins over the past two days and a host of exciting action to look forward to this weekend.

First, let’s take a look at Fly Me Home, owned by Kenneth Wheeler, who broke her maiden in stylish fashion under a confident Jevian Toledo ride today at Laurel Park. This 3-year-old daughter of Temple City is a young filly clearly going places.

Yesterday at Keeneland, Ryan Ritt and Mark Spinazze’s Windy City Red made it two-for-two his last couple of races, with an inspired performance under Tyler Gaffalione to prevail by a nose. Windy City Red was subsequently claimed out of the yard.

And now for our weekend stakes-race action.

Tomorrow at Aqueduct, the talented Alms has drawn the inside post of 5 in the $100,000 Plenty of Grace Stakes, over a mile on the turf. Javier Castellano takes the mount on this multiple graded-stakes winner, who’s a 3-1 shot on the Morning Line.

The Stidham stable’s two-handed in stake races tomorrow at Laurel Park.

Stepping up in class, Chardonnay faces five other rivals in the $125,000 Weber City Miss Stakes, over 1 and 1/16th miles. Charlie Marquez takes the ride on this 7-2 shot, who’s looking for some valuable black type to enhance her paddock value.

In the $100,000 Heavenly Cause Stakes over a mile, Pennybaker is drawn 11 of 12 with Jevian Toledo on board. This daughter of Medaglia d’Oro had impressive listed winning form over in France last year, and is a 5-1 shot to prevail on her Stateside debut.

And here’s the stable’s lone other entry this weekend:
