A Toast to Chardonnay!
The stable’s good form continued yesterday with a timely win by a very well-bred filly at Pimlico.
Owned and bred by Speedway Stables, the nom de course of Peter and Ann Fluor and K.C. Weiner, Chardonnay aded a second victory to her career resume with a dominating win at the home of the Preakness Stakes, leading from start to finish before flashing past the post under Charlie Marquez by a good half-a-length.
This well bred daughter of Candy Ride is out of the stakes winning Shayjolie (herself a Speedway Stables runner), who showed admirable form in several graded stakes throughout her career.
Now a multiple winner herself, Chardonnay did her paddock value no harm whatsoever with this excellent victory at Pimlico, and as an improving 3-year-old, there’s surely more to come!
As to the weekend, the stable send out the talented Kingpin at Monmouth Park on Sunday. Stay tuned next week to hear how he fares.
