Summer Sizzler!
The Stidham stable’s whizzing into the weekend in flying form thanks to another winner this week courtesy of Stone Farm’s Summer Silence at Delaware Park yesterday.
Given a positive ride by Jamie Rodriguez, Summer Silence led pretty much start to finish before passing the wire a head too good. This 4-year-old son of Union Rags has long deserved to his head in front, and it was good to see him finally get the ribbon.
And now for the weekend stakes action!
Tomorrow at Monmouth Park, we send out two in the G3 Eatontown Stakes, a $150,000 race over 1 1/16th miles on the turf. Alms, a 6-1 shot on the Morning Line, is drawn 4 of 8 with Joe Bravo on board, while 7-2 shot Princess Grace is drawn 6 with Florent Geroux riding.
This race, of course, represents the seasonal debut of the multiple stakes winning Princess Grace.
On Sunday at Laurel Park, Fly Me Home is drawn 9 of 9 in the $100,000 Stormy Blues Stakes, a 5 1/2 furlong sprint on the turf. With Jevian Toledo on board, Fly Me Home is looking to build on a two-race win streak from only three starts, and this is her first attempt in black type company.
