Weekend Update!
Another weekend, another chance for a big race winner at the Stidham stable. But before we take a look at these chances, let’s rewind the clock back a little, and enjoy Miss Betty’s victory on her racecourse bow last weekend.
Owned in a partnership between Cobra Farm, Gary Vandeweghe, and Stephen Gray, Miss Betty showed a clean pair of heels to her rivals under Angel Suarez at Delaware Park, ridden prominently throughout before passing the post nearly two lengths too good.
This 3-year-old daughter of Frosted appears to have the world at her feet, and it’ll be fun waiting to see what the maestro does with her next.
Onto tomorrow, and the exciting return to action of Pennybaker in the G3 Chicago Stakes at Churchill Downs, a $200,000 race over seven furlongs. Drawn 2 of 7 with James Graham on board, Pannybaker is an 8-1 shot to prevail.
This Godolphin owned and bred daughter of Medaglia d’Oro won on her state-side debut at Laurel Park, the Heavenly Cause Stakes, and though this is a tougher assignment, she’s been doing everything asked of her at home, and a good run is expected.
