Speedway Stables’ talented homebred, Chardonnay, added another win to her name yesterday at Laurel Park, digging deep in the final furlong to inch out a head victory under Jeiron Barbosa at the wire.
Out of the good Speedway Stables race-mare, Shayjolie (herself stakes winning and graded-stakes placed), Chardonnay is now a three-time winner and valuable broodmare proposition. But as a 3-year-old, she’s surely capable of even more at the track before she’s retired to the breeding shed.
And now for the weekend entries:
John Macarthur – Race 1, Maiden Special Weight
Harold’s Cloud – Race 2, Maiden Claiming
Sanctified – Race 9, Allowance
