Happy Thanksgiving!
That time of year is upon us once again, and we’d like to wish each and every fan of the barn a wonderful Thanksgiving Holidays. There’s certainly plenty of good action to look forward to!
Stable favourite Proxy is looking for a first top-flight victory when drawn 1 of 7 in the $750,000 GI Clark Stakes presented by Norton Healthcare at Churchill Downs on Friday, a 1 and 1/8th mile race.
This is a tough assignment for Proxy, who has run several fine races in defeat this year in some equally tough graded stakes, facing Friday as he does this year’s Kentucky Derby winner. With Joel Rosario on board, the pair are a 7-2 shot on the Morning Line.
Before we take a look at the rest of the week’s entries, we should give a shout out to a nice 2-year-old winner for Godolphin last week, when Motivating broke his maiden at the third time of asking at Fair Grounds.
This home-bred Into Mischief colt was slick indeed under a fine Reylu Gutierrez ride, and it’ll be fascinating to see where Stidham sends him next.
