Weekend Update!

The talented Speedway Stables runner, Chardonnay, makes a bid for some black-type Sunday at Turfway Park, when lining up in the $125,000 My Charmer Stakes.

But before we take a look at her chances, let’s look back to yesterday, and a commanding debut win by the Godolphin homebred, Phileas Fogg, at Fair Grounds.

Given a peach of a ride by Colby Hernandez, Phileas Fogg was sent straight onto the lead and never looked back, passing the post a comfortable 3 and 3/4 lengths clear of the rest. This 2-year-old son of Astern is yet another exciting youngster for Stidham and the boys in blue – keep an eye out for where he reappears next.

As for tomorrow’s My Charmer Stakes, Chardonnay is drawn 11 of 12 in the 1 and 1/16th mile contest on the All Weather, with Declan Cannon on board. This well-bred filly deserves to win a race of this sort, and is a 15-1 shot to do so on Sunday.

And here’s the other stable entry this weekend:
