All Eyes on Proxy!
The eyes of the racing world are squarely focused on Gulfstream Park tomorrow and the latest running of the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes, in which the stable’s Proxy is a leading contender.
A fantastic winner last time out of the GI Clark Stakes at Churchill Downs, Proxy has been aimed at this race for quite some time – a win tomorrow would constitute a career high performance for this 5-year-old son of Tapit who boasts a career win-rate thus far of 4 wins from 13 starts.
Read what Stidham has to say about Proxy’s chances here at Horse Racing Nation and here at the Blood Horse.
Drawn 1 of 12, Proxy has the more than able services of Joel Rosario in tomorrow’ contest, run over 1 and 1/8th miles. They’re a 9-2 chance on the Morning Line.
Proxy’s not the only big race runner out of the stable this weekend.
Tomorrow at Turfway Park, Ready To Venture (GB) is drawn 11 of 12 in the $125,000 Wishing Well Stakes, a 6 1/2 furlong sprint on the All-Weather. A two-time winner of listed contests in her last two runs, Ready to Venture is obviously in fine heart at the moment, and she’s a 2/1 shot on the Morning Line to make it three stakes races out of three tomorrow under Gerardo Corrales.
