Susan and John Moore’s Catnip was an irresistible winner for the stable last week, when running out a toughly-fought victor on his seasonal debut at Keeneland.
Not seen since last October, Catnip raced wide throughout, kicking on down the homestretch to slug it out near the wire, holding on by a neck.
A 4-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy, Catnip has been highly tried in his short 5-race career. And on this showing, it certainly looks as though this home-bred should be given another chance in stakes company.
