What a weekend it was for the stable, spearheaded by the imperious performence of Tufani in a valuable Handicap at Colonial Downs.
Susan Moulton's Tufani was kicked into the lead at the top of the stretch by Ben Curtis and never looked like being beaten thereafter, gliding home a length and 3/4 too good at the wire.
This four year-old daughter of Distorted Humor is in great form at the moment, having claimed the Brookmeade Stakes last time out at the same venue. With this tidy $150,000 race under her belt, maybe a step up into graded stakes company is on the cards...
Earlier on in the card, Godolphin's Amalfi Drive stamped herself a young filly seemingly with the world at her feet with an absolutely resounding victory under Curtis, once again.
A four and 1/2 length win doesn't do justice to how easily Amalfi Drive dispatched a nice field of 2-year-olds. This daughter of Medaglia d'Oro is now two-for-two. There will be plenty itching to see what she can do against hotter company next time out.
