Before we take a look at the next exciting step this weekend in the career of a talented youngster, let's turn our attention to last weekend, and another lovely win for Susan Moulton's Tufani.
Stepping down in grade, Tufani proved way too good for her competition, sauntering home by nearly three lengths under Ben Curtis at Fair Grounds.
This 3-year-old daughter of Distorted Humor is still lightly raced, and already has some black type to her name. Given this latest showing, another step back into stakes company could be on the cards. Whatever she does, she couldn't be in any better hands, especially given Stidham's renowned patience with fillies of this sort.
And now to the weekend, with Godolphin's Central Avenue looking to strike graded stakes gold in the G2 Golden Rod Stakes, a $400,000 race for two-year-old fillies over 1 and 1/16th miles at Churchill Downs.
This homebred daughter of Street Sense was second last time out in the GI Frizette Stakes, at Belmont with the Big A. It was a cracking run on only her second start. And the winner subsequently won the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Javier Castellano rides Central Avenue tomorrow, drawn 5 of 8. Together, they're a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line.
And now for the rest of the weekend action:
